In my family, we don’t do a big Christmas brunch—mostly because we’ve already stuffed ourselves with a dozen dishes just hours earlier. So, breakfast is always simple: a cup of coffee and a hunk of Borgo de Medici Assorted Mini Panettone.
Wrapped up like a gift worthy of sitting under the Christmas tree, we buy the panettone from Costco; each box contains nine mini loaves in three flavors: classic, which is studded with candied fruit and golden raisins; pistachio cream; and limoncello, a lemon-flavored Italian aperitivo that's turned into a custardy center. (The latter is boozy and brunchy in the best way.)
Borgo de Medici's panettone is soft and buttery enough to eat by itself, but we also love repurposing the leftovers into the world’s easiest holiday breakfast: panettone French toast casserole.

What I Love About Borgo de Medici Assorted Mini Panettone
Each loaf feels like a tiny present—they're beautifully wrapped, lightly perfumed with citrus and vanilla, and just the right size to pair with a morning espresso. They stay fresh for weeks, which makes them perfect for gifting or stashing away for when friends stop by during the holidays.
I also love that they bring a touch of Italy to our snowy, Canadian mornings. Each bite tastes rich and buttery, with that soft, airy texture that makes panettone so special. Just opening the box feels festive: the golden loaves gleaming inside, the scent of sweet bread and citrus filling the room. It’s the kind of simple luxury that instantly makes the morning feel celebratory.
How to Serve Mini Panettone
Nosh on a mini panettone (or two—they’re small!) alongside a big mug of coffee, or warm one briefly in the oven until the top is golden and fragrant. Spread with butter, jam, or Nutella for a quick indulgence.
If there are any leftovers, slice the panettone into thick rounds for French toast or bake into a cozy bread pudding the next day. They also make a sweet base for trifle, or a late-afternoon snack with tea. Basically, there’s no wrong way to enjoy these holiday loaves.
