I have a high school athlete who is involved in two year-round sports, so protein is a big thing in our house. My 15-year-old son is always seeking it in some form or another. Because he’s so busy, he needs to nosh on nourishing things on the go, like beef sticks.
Beef jerky has been a snack staple in our house for many years, but it’s expensive to keep stocked. That's why I was delighted to discover Kirkland Grass-Fed Beef Sticks on a recent trip to Costco.
Kirkland Grass-Fed Beef Sticks
- Price: $12.99 for a pack of 12 sticks
- Why I Love It: The price is unbeatable for these high-quality, grass-fed beef sticks.
A 12-pack (13.8 ounces) costs only $12.99. That’s a little over a buck for each hearty beef stick. If you've bought quality beef sticks, you know this is an unbelievable bargain. For example, a pack of eight Chomps (9.2 ounces) costs $18.49 at my local Target, a 10-pack of Jack Link’s Beef Jerky (9.2 ounces) costs $15.20 at my local Walmart, and a six-pack of Omaha Beef Sticks (12 ounces) costs $17.97 if ordered online.
I was shocked by the reasonable price, especially for beef sticks that are made with grass-fed beef. The price got me to put them into my cart, but their taste has made me run back to Costco for more.

Kirkland Beef Sticks really highlight the beef—they're hearty, meaty, and juicy. They're delicious. The sticks don't contain any weird-sounding ingredients or flavorings I can’t pronounce. Plus, there are no added sugars, which I really appreciate. I like that after eating a stick, I don’t get heartburn, which happens with low-quality beef jerky.
My son immediately fell in love with these. "They are really high quality,” he told me, with a surprised look on his face. He gnawed on one stick, then another, and then he shoved a handful into his lunch bag. That told me everything I needed to know.
I plan to buy Kirkland Beef Sticks when it's my turn to bring snacks to one of his sporting events—I know they'll be popular. They’d also be great snacks for road trips, for care boxes for college students, and for camping or backpacking. For our family, they’re mostly for a growing teenager who craves protein, so I’m stocking up.
