I love a good Cabernet Sauvignon, especially once there’s a chill in the air. As a wine reviewer, I'm always on the lookout for exciting bottles to share with readers. If you're searching for an affordable option to pour during the holidays, I strongly suggest grabbing a delicious seasonal cab I recently discovered at Aldi.
Fuzion Uco Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine that’s been buzzing among Aldi fans on social media. While I often uncover great wines simply by wandering the grocery-store aisles, the moment I spotted this one tucked onto a low shelf at my local Aldi, I knew I had to take it home.

What’s So Great About Fuzion Cabernet Sauvignon
At $9.99 for a 750 ml bottle, this wine is a bit pricier than most offerings at Aldi, but it’s absolutely money well spent. At 13.9 percent alcohol, this cabernet is quite dry and very smooth. Unlike the big, bold cabs from Napa, it’s restrained and elegant.
Fuzion is a single-vineyard wine, planted nearly 1,000 meters above sea level in the Uco Valley in Mendoza, Argentina. This wine region is known for its Malbec, but its high altitude is also ideal for producing complex Cabernets, and that’s exactly what this is.
The wine is made by Bodega Santa Julia, which is owned by the Zuccardi family, a producer celebrated for its organic wines. Though Fuzion doesn’t have an organic label, it does carry a Sustainable Argentina seal.
How To Serve Fuzion Cabernet Sauvignon This Holiday
I smelled aromas of dark blackberries and blueberries, with a hint of strawberry jam and a touch of black pepper and herbs. It would taste amazing paired with a steak topped with chimichurri or other grilled meats. It’s also an excellent choice to serve with your holiday roast, steak, or prime rib.
I first tasted it with Park Street Deli’s burnt ends barbecue pork, and it picked up the smoke flavors beautifully. It also paired nicely with an Emporium Selection Gruyère–cheddar blend, but it was an absolutely fantastic pairing with Cocoa Cardona, an aged goat cheese rubbed in unsweetened cocoa powder and a touch of black pepper.
After that pairing, I had to try it with some dark chocolate, and Fuzion’s dark chocolate aromas were brought forward even more. I think brownies and dark chocolate lava cake would be terrific matches as well.
I also tried it with truffle-scented Marcona almonds, and this wine really picked up the truffle aromas well. That tells me it would taste great with truffle cheddars and mushrooms of all kinds. Think stuffed portobellos or a rich cream of mushroom soup—both would be stellar pairings.
Fuzion is also just a great wine to sip and relax with at the end of a long work week or holiday shopping spree. I’m definitely going to be sipping this the next time we light a fire in the fireplace. Since Fuzion is a seasonal wine that disappears once it’s sold out, I’m going to stash away a few bottles to get me through the colder months.
