If you're as yet unfamiliar with what makes a "marry me" recipe, let me explain: The original is a chicken dish made with a roux-thickened sun-dried tomato sauce fortified with heavy cream and plenty of Parmesan cheese. It gets its name because it's supposedly so good that serving it may just get you a marriage proposal. First published in 2016, over the years "The Original Marry Me Chicken," first developed by Delish.com has been played with and riffed on by recipe developers and cooks everywhere.
So, to celebrate the many "marry me" recipes now out there, we've pulled all the versions we have on our site and put them in one place. This collection was made with love—for those already familiar with "marry me" recipes and those who just haven't met them yet. Enjoy!

"Softening the cream cheese to room temperature helps it more easily incorporate into the soup. That said, don’t be afraid to get in there when you add it, squishing any cream cheese chunks against the side of the pot as needed to help it melt and mix in evenly." —Afton Cyrus, Senior Editor

"I like using chickpeas for this recipe because they’re nice and sturdy and hold up to longer cooking times, but you could use a navy bean or another firm white bean instead." —Stephanie A. Ganz, Recipe Developer
Marry Me Chicken Casserole

"You can prepare this entire casserole and store it, covered in foil, in the fridge for up to 2 days. When you are ready to bake it, leave it covered and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes. Then uncover the casserole and bake it for another 20 minutes so the top gets crispy." —Nick Evans, Recipe Developer

"If you choose to grate your own cheese for this recipe, I suggest cutting it into small pieces and blitzing it in a food processor. It saves you so much time compared to grating on the itty-bitty holes of a box or rasp grater." —Marianne Williams, Recipe Tester and Developer
