I was scrolling through home décor inspiration on Instagram last week when I realized all those gorgeous, warm, lived-in kitchens, dining rooms, and living rooms I was saving had one thing in common: natural textures, including woven baskets, wood cutting boards, rattan furniture, light fixtures, and linen napkins. My house already has several pieces with this aesthetic, but it struck me that a few small, affordable upgrades would make it feel much cozier and more intentional.

I love the look of the Birch and Vine Straw Baskets from Dollar Tree, and I've already bought a couple of Dollar Tree's Woven Baskets, so I thought I'd go back to my favorite store and pick up a few more, but then I saw the mid-sized weaving straw baskets for just $1.25 each.

At about six inches wide, these natural fiber baskets were exactly what I wanted to add to enhance the warm, organic texture I've been craving. Yes, as accent pieces, but also as working storage throughout my kitchen and home.

  • Price: $1.25 for one six-inch basket
  • Why I Love It: They bring warmth to larger spaces and create practical zones or "collection spots" for the things I use every day.

Why I Love Dollar Tree's Weaving Straw Baskets

One selling point of the baskets is their affordability, especially given the visual impact they create. All of Dollar Tree's baskets help organize my belongings and make my spaces feel cozier. In a previous story, I wrote about how the smaller Dollar Tree Woven Baskets added rustic charm to my countertop or dresser. These larger baskets bring the same warm aesthetic to larger spaces, creating practical zones or "collection spots" for the things I use every day.

How I'm Using (And Plan To Use) Even More of These Weaving Straw Baskets

I picked one up to put on an open pantry shelf to fill with bags of my favorite heirloom beans. The woven straw already added a soft, organic feel, quickly making my space feel more curated. Even practical items like snack bags or tea boxes would look more intentional nestled in one of these instead of just being stacked on a bare shelf.

In my kitchen, I'm considering switching to one of these larger baskets as a permanent home for holding citrus on the counter. Even in spaces that aren't traditionally "styled," these baskets would make them more functional.

The coat closet by the front door holds a jumbled mix of things we always seem to need on the way out. However, adding a few baskets for necessities like sunscreen, extra mittens, or purse and backpack essentials would help make the space feel more organized and intentional.

I can also see myself pairing one decoratively with other natural elements I already have, like a pretty wooden cutting board, some linen napkins, and a simple vase with a few stems from the farmers' market, to create a cute shelf look in my kitchen or dining room. Wherever (and however) they land, I know they'll add warmth to the space.

For $1.25 each, they're an easy way to add a warm, natural aesthetic without a major home makeover, and that's an upgrade I'll happily take in this economy.
