My 15-year-old son loves ramen noodles in all forms, from fancy bowls of warm ramen and instant ramen soup packets to heat-and-serve stir fried ramen noodles. So whenever he spots anything labeled "ramen" on store shelves that he hasn't tried before, it goes straight into our shopping cart.

On our last trip to Aldi, his eyes lit up like a Christmas tree when he spied Fusia Teriyaki Ramen on a shelf. At only $2.95 per 8.11-ounce container, these head-and-eat noodles are reasonably priced. The packaging, shaped like a miniature takeout box, adds to the appeal, giving the impression that it might have come from a fancy restaurant—a small touch that makes the find feel even more special, which it is.

What’s So Great About ALDI’s Fusia Takeout On the Go Ramen

Aldi’s Fusia Ramen is quite different from other ramen options you find in the grocery store and beyond. These noodles don’t require the addition of hot water—you simply microwave the box and you’re good to go.

My son packs them for school. “It’s really easy,” he told me one day after school. “You basically just stick the entire box in the microwave.”

For me, that means I don’t have to heat water and pour it in a thermos for my son to take to school with the ramen. It’s a simple, one-step lunch.

Fusia Ramen comes in three flavors: Teriyaki, Kung Pao, and Pad Thai. My family tried all three, but Teriyaki is my son’s favorite, hands down. Plus, he likes that each serving contains 13 grams of protein—a great match for his needs since he plays two sports almost daily. “It has a fair amount of protein, so it keeps me full,” he said.

I keep my pantry stocked with these cute little boxes since they’re shelf-stable and easy to grab for a quick meal. My son looks for them after school or during late-night gaming sessions. I have served them for dinner with a bagged salad, too—a fast option on busy evenings.
